Another Rainy Saturday
Another Rainy Saturday
It was a rainy day and the golf course was closed, leaving me stuck inside with nothing to do but watch The Players Championship on TV. But as luck would have it, distractions kept popping up left and right, preventing me from watching the outcome.
First, my cat decided to climb onto my lap and demand attention, purring so loudly I couldn't hear the TV. Then, my neighbor's lawnmower kicked into high gear, drowning out the commentary. Just as I got the cat off my lap and the lawnmower finally stopped, my phone rang. It was my mother, who insisted on chatting about the weather for half an hour.
Finally, I managed to get back to the TV just in time for the crucial hole. But just as the players were about to take their shots, a delivery man rang the doorbell, delivering a package I didn't even remember ordering. By the time I got back to the TV, the hole was over and the leaderboard had completely changed.
I cursed my luck and settled in to watch the next hole, but the doorbell rang again. This time, it was the neighborhood kids selling candy for their school fundraiser. I couldn't resist their puppy dog eyes, so I bought a box of chocolates and spent the next half hour snacking and chatting with them.
By the time I finally got back to the TV, the tournament was almost over and my favorite player was out of contention. I sighed and turned off the TV, realizing that sometimes distractions are just too much to handle, even for a dedicated golfer like myself.
