Hole in 1!
Hole in 1 Damnit
I did it. I finally hit a hole in one. And where did I accomplish this incredible feat, you ask? On the golf course, in front of a gallery of cheering fans? Nope. In my basement, on my crappy golf simulator.
Yes, that's right - I managed to hit a hole in one on a machine that's held together with duct tape and prayers. It's not exactly the most high-tech simulator out there, but hey, it gets the job done. And by "job," I mean providing me with an excuse to not go outside and actually play golf in the cold and rain.
I know what you're thinking - "That's not a real hole in one, you cheating bastard!" But to that, I say: "I don't care. I hit a hole in one, dammit!" I mean, sure, it was on a simulator that probably wouldn't even fool a blindfolded toddler, but still - a hole in one is a hole in one.
So to all you naysayers out there, I have one message: don't hate the player, hate the game. And in this case, the game is a haphazardly assembled mess of netting and old bed sheets. But hey, it's my mess, and I'm damn proud of it.
In conclusion, hitting a hole in one on a crappy golf simulator may not be the most impressive accomplishment in the world, but it's still something to be proud of. So the next time you're feeling too lazy to brave the elements and play a real round of golf, just fire up your piecemeal simulator and dream big. Who knows - you might just hit a "hole in one" of your own.
